DescriptionMohammed, Ramez, and Saifaldin--all from Homs, Syria--are soldiers with the Free Syrian Army. Homs was surrounded by President Bashar al-Assad's military, but the city has an ancient sewage system that the Free Syrian Army uses to smuggle out their wounded. It can take six hours walking in total darkness to reach medical help Mohammad-was shot in the chest, and Ramez's family soon joined him, and his young son Aiman, has been with him every day. Saifaldin was wounded by a missile that killed seven and wounded many more.
