Visual DescriptionA volume on rare instruments by Wang Zhongjie decorated with fore-edge paintings. The single volume from the Ming Chongzhen period publication Zhong Qian Wang Zhongjie Gong Qi Tushuo Xu, with a fore-edge painting of a Landscape depicting the "Flight into Egypt" in Chinese style, rendered in ink and color, with a decorative cloth case.

Chinese style painting showing Christ the Crucified in the clothing and with the appearance of a Chinese ruler of the Han dynasty, which was the time of Christ. Done to commemorate Christ the King Day as observed by members of the Benedictine Order. Under the imperial cap is seen a crown of thorns.

The book contains 36 pages including cover and back page. Each page is framed separately except for the cover with its frames as a whole. The pages are printed or sewn with abstract designs or text in primarily subtle reds and blues. The edition includes 25 copies, with 7 AP copies. The work has been produced by Solo Impressions, New York under the supervision of Louise Bourgeois. The book was published as Peter Blum Edition, New York.
