DescriptionRev. Dr. William J. Barber stands in a church aisle. However, on close inspection, there is a curtain hung behind him (a common trope in Beal photographs). The curtain graphic blends with the perspective of the actual space he stands in. The graphic is of North Carolina’s State Legislative Building, where Barber was arrested after refusing to leave in protest of health care for the poor, sparking resistance and renewed protest on behalf of social justice in health care.
