Visual DescriptionTerracotta vessel (possibly a vessel for holding cacao). Carved into the vessel are Mayan hieroglyphics and the portrait of a person wearing regalia that includes a headdress. This is very likely a burial vessel and further research is needed to identify the location of origin.

Vessel is decorated with glyphs on the inside rim. Center of the inside of the vessel is painted a design yet to be determined. Outside of vessel is not painted.

Vessel with four feet- each foot is hollow and once held small stones or pieces of fired terracotta in order to rattle when moved. It is decorated all over the inside and outside with geometric designs.

Round vessel with base and lid. Body of the vessel is decorated with a human face and incised scroll pattern that is repeated. The lid is decorated with spheres that serve as rattles when the piece is moved (there are small ceramic pieces inside some of the spheres). On the top of the lid a human is seated with legs crossed, arms down by their sides. The body of the figure is unclothed but the head is depicted with earspools and small headdress.

Cream slipped bowl with painted interior and exterior; dragon motif on exterior has curvilinear body with small dots on back. Thick black lines on rim and base of bowl. Light color body with black and red painting. Likely Mayan Ulua valley ceramic or Mayan El Salvador ceramic, 500-900AD.
