DescriptionThe center of the bowl’s interior is decorated with a peony spray. The exterior of the bowl depicts Neptune riding dolphins and holding his trident. He is surrounded by a variety of water nymphs and sprites. The reclining nude female on his left maybe the goddess, Venus, who is often depicted in scenes with Neptune.
