DescriptionFlat-topped straight sided octagonal box with lid, flat base. White clay body, cobalt blue underglaze, clear glaze except on lower edge & inner side of lid, also on lid flange & base of bottom. Outside: continuous diaper pattern (petal-work) alternating with floral motif around outer edge of flat lid serves as outer border of 2 circular parallel lines enclosing 8 petaled flower w/leaves. Sides of lid has 8 lotus panels with alternating flower & floral motif which extends downward onto base of box. One line serves as border near base.
