DescriptionSam and Robbie Vickers stand in their living room as Sam holds Thomas Moran’s Fort George Island (1880) and Robbie's arm is around Sam's back. Other paintings line the blue walls and there are additional works seen through the doorway including a guitar. In the foreground, as if on a shallow ledge within the painting are an ornate silver coffeepot, a first edition of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings’ classic The Yearling, a drawing, several pink peonies, and a partially peeled orange. The reflection of the coffeepot (a work by Harvey Lewis) is the artist's own self-portrait and another view of Sam and Robbie Vickers. The objects on the ledge have a trompe l'oeil effect, seeming to come out of the edge of the painting.
