Ten taxonomic illustrations of plants and animals. In the center is an American snake, surrounded by four opossums, one of which houses several of her young in her pouch. Other drawings include a Brazilian red, yellow, and blue bird and four branches from American and Brazilian plants.

Thirteen taxonomic illustrations of various plants and animals. Eleven illustrations depict scorpions of various sizes and from various regions, including Brazil, Ceylon, Suriname, Guinea, the Netherlands, and Italy. Also depicted are a brown and white Indonesian viper and a branch with yellow flowers from an Indian acacia tree.
