DescriptionThirteen taxonomic illustrations of various plants and animals. Eleven illustrations depict scorpions of various sizes and from various regions, including Brazil, Ceylon, Suriname, Guinea, the Netherlands, and Italy. Also depicted are a brown and white Indonesian viper and a branch with yellow flowers from an Indian acacia tree. Plate 70 from Volume I of "Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesauri," Amsterdam: Wetsten, Smith and Waesberg, 1734-1755.
