Drawings of ten plants and animals. In the central, a brown and gray limbless lizard of the genus Acontias from Saint Croix. Surrounding the lizard are five common snakes from America and Suriname, of various shades of red, yellow, and black. Arranged symmetrically are two leaves from an American maidenhead fern and two from an African maidenhead fern.
