DescriptionEight taxonomic illustrations of animals from various continents. At the top, an orange, green, and yellow Sri Lankan curls its body. Below are depicted a green and yellow Sri Lankan lizard, two Indonesian salamanders of blue, yellow, and red, a black and white American snake, a black and white African snake, a yellow American salamander, and a gray American toad. Plate 109 from Volume I of "Locupletissimi Rerum Naturalium Thesauri," Amsterdam: Wetsten, Smith and Waesberg, 1734-1755.
