DescriptionTwo Phaethonis Pygmaeus (Pigmy Hermit) hummingbirds with greenish brown backs, and rust-colored bellies. One bird stands on the long green leaves of a plant, and the other sits in a nest on the same leaf. Plate 41 from volume I of "A Monograph of the Trochilidae, or Family of Hummingbirds", London, 1849-1861 (supplement printed 1880-1887).
