DescriptionFour Thaumastura corae (Cora's Shear-Tail) hummingbirds with green backs, blue wings, and white bellies; the two adult males have long black and white forking tails, and blue and light red throats; the young male has a black and white forked tail and a spotted throat; and the female has a white throat. All four birds stand on a Mimosa plant with woody stems and white flowers. Plate 153 from volume III of "A Monograph of the Trochilidae, or Family of Hummingbirds" (London, 1849-1861).
